Women may suffer from anaemia due to pregnancy and heavy menstrual periods, bleeding fibroids or endometriosis

During pregnancy measurement of hemoglobin is required to carefully monitor signs of anemia. Our HemoCue hand-held hemoglobin analysers deliver results while the patient is still present. If anaemia is detected, additional blood tests can be performed during the same appointment.

Early signs of pregnancy can be detected with Radiometer’s AQT90 FLEX immunoassay analyser, which measures βhCG on both whole blood and plasma.

Gestational diabetes has been described as a hidden epidemic, affecting 2–5% of all pregnant women. With its excellent accuracy and precision, our HemoCue glucose analyser is an effective tool to screen for and monitor gestational diabetes.

Birth asphyxia occurs when a baby’s brain and other organs do not get enough oxygen before, during and after birth. This can lead to cerebral damage, severe disabilities or even death. By monitoring the baby’s oxygen and acid-base status during and immediately after birth, birth asphyxia can be detected and actions to prevent cerebral damage can be initiated.

Fetal scalp sampling performed during labour and umbilical cord blood sampling performed immediately after birth are used to monitor whether the baby’s oxygenation level is sufficient.

Radiometer's ABL90 FLEX blood gas analyser with safeCLINITUBES capillary tubes can help.
