Get 19 critical parameters on one tiny blood sample

The ABL90 FLEX PLUS blood gas analyser is designed for point of care testing in busy clinical environments, such as the ED, ICU, NICU or the delivery room where fast results from a very small blood sample are vitally important to make critical diagnostic decisions.

The ABL90 FLEX PLUS analyser gives you reliable results in only 35 seconds on 19 parameters – blood gas, electrolytes, metabolites and co-oximetry – from a syringe, capillary tube or blood collection tube.

All on one blood sample of only 65 µL.

This extended panel of critical parameters within blood gas testing gives you more clinical insight here and now, allowing you to act on results and make life-saving diagnostic decisions.

Your blood gas analyser with an expanded test menu

With the new addition of creatinine and urea to the blood gas testing menu, the ABL90 FLEX PLUS blood gas analyser offers the world’s broadest range of critical care parameters on a compact platform.

Creatinine and urea results at the point of care can give you fast insight into the kidney status of your critically ill patient.

Improve patient flow in the ED with more STAT parameters

Fast and accurate test results are crucial to overcome the challenge of overcrowding in the Emergency Department (ED).

Creatinine results at the point of care allow you to identify patients at risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) as well as to quickly assess your patient's kidney status before CT or MRI scans to determine if there’s a risk of contrast-induced nephropathy. [1-3]

Also, creatinine and urea results can help you assess dehydration as well as identify the origin of gastrointestinal bleeding. [1, 2]

With creatinine and urea as STAT parameters, you can make your diagnostic decisions faster during triage and improve patient flow in the ED – two significant improvements in processes.

Optimising workflows in the Intensive Care Unit: no more waiting for results from the lab

In the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), getting the necessary results quicker will enable you to make more informed decisions about the treatment of your patient.

In the ICU, creatinine and urea results can:

  • help you monitor the kidney function of your patient [2]
  • assist in predicting heart failure [2]
  • assist in monitoring the effectiveness of haemodialysis and in assessing the severity of pancreatitis [2]
  • indicate early chronic kidney disease (CKD) which will allow you to initiate appropriate and timely treatment [2]

Breaking the creatinine:urea code

Meet our dedicated engineers who spent more than a decade focusing on breaking the code for developing creatinine and urea for point of care testing.

This breakthrough in development is what makes it possible for the new ABL90 FLEX PLUS blood gas analyser to deliver critical diagnostic test results on 19 parameters in just 35 seconds with proven analytical performance.

NeoOne Blood Gas TC solution

Reducing blood collection volume from fragile neonates

In the NICU, at-risk neonates require close surveillance, as undetected changes in blood gas levels may result in severe damage to a neonate's health.

With its special blood-conserving MicroMode measurement for the NICU and delivery rooms, the ABL90 FLEX PLUS blood gas analyser provides 17 critical parameters - blood gases, glucose, lactate, haemoglobin, bilirubin and more - from a very small sample volume of just 45 µL.

And by adding another 20 µL of blood to your sample, you can now get results on creatinine and urea also.

This means greater focus on neonate safety and comfort.
